Lindsay Lohan: Rehab Stories

Sharethis Watershed

Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab, again, and many are curious if she will stay clean and sober this time. Actress Lindsay Lohan just got out of a 3-month court-mandated treatment this past Tuesday looking bright-eyed and happy. Since this is not the first attempt at getting clean and sober for Lohan, many people are skeptical that she will stay that way. One question that is has been sparking interest recently is how her new exclusive eight-episode docu-series on Oprah’s OWN network will affect her recovery.

Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Exclusive on Lindsay Lohan

In a nut shell, the entire series is about rebuilding the train wreck that is Lohan’s life. Lindsay Lohan will be followed around with cameras as she tries to build her recovery up and her get her career back. A one-on-one interview between Lohan and Oprah is scheduled to air sometime this month and her show is scheduled to air in 2014.

The Canyons

The Cayons just recently hit the big screen where Lohan seems to play a similar role to her own life. The movie plays on sex, scandal, glamour, youth, and the viewing of everyone’s pleasure in the public eye. You can even see how much Lohan’s appearance has changed over the past few years from drinking, drug abuse, and plastic surgery. One might speculate that it’s her continued attempt to be back on top and feel OK about herself again. It’s not uncommon for addicts to work on the outside rather than the inside. Many are hoping this attitude will change in recovery.

What’s Next For Lindsay Lohan?

Lohan may seem OK now, but she still has a steep mountain to climb if she wants to remain clean and sober. Recovery is a process and if she is a real addict/alcoholic, there is work to be done. Many celebrities have died from the disease of addiction because their fame, fortune, and pride was worth more to them than their life. Amy Winehouse, Cory Monteith, Heath Ledger, Whitney Houston are just a few celebrities who have passed too soon from drug abuse.

Once again, the disease of addiction does not care how much money you have, how famous you are, or who loves you; it’s a disease that will kill anyone. There is hope though, but the person who wants to recover from addiction has to put in the work. Just like anything in life, if you want something, you have to work for it. Recovery is a process and it takes time and effort, but it’s worth it.
