#MondayMotivation: Trust Yourself | Weekly Meditation
“Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.”
Many times in our addiction we were in such denial that we didn’t even know how bad we were lying to ourselves. When we came into recovery it took time for us to shed that denial shield and trust in ourselves again. We were so programmed by the devastation of our past that we forgot deep down we all still had belief and hope. It just has been blocked out by tragedy, fear, and anxiety. We lost the ability to trust others and ultimately the ability to trust ourselves, but it doesn’t have to stay that way.
When we let go of the old ideas and beliefs and we start trusting in a higher power, we start to believe in hope and healing. After that connection is made, you begin to trust yourself again in an entirely new way and it’s amazing.
There is a tiny voice that speaks truth, love, hope, and guidance. The quieter you are and the more you listen, the greater chance you have at hearing this voice. It is your truth and it wants to guide you through this journey in life, but you have to be able to trust yourself again to really feel it. This takes time and practice and will be challenged in each new phase of life, but when you are able to tap into it, you will see how life starts to simply flow rather than be a fight.
Just for today, trust yourself, your spirit and higher power might be trying to tell you something.
