It Is OK To Ask For Help
We all need a helping hand here and there as we travel this journey in life and recovery. Some of us felt that we were weak, crazy, or not normal because we needed it. In some of those cases we didn’t ask for help because we were scared and didn’t know how. The good news is that once again, you are not alone and it is OK to ask for help.
The best way to ask for help is by letting others know you need it. Those who love you won’t be able to help you if you don’t open up about your problems. So many times we found ourselves ignoring these problems hoping that they would some how just go away, only to grow bigger and stronger. Once they were too big for us to carry, we then found ourselves feeling lost, hopeless, and alone. The despair of every overcoming these challenges started to take over and it is during this time that we felt defeated.
We need not stay in this defeat and if we want to be free, we must reach out and ask for help. Once we have admitted that we were powerless over whatever situation is before us, we can then take some real action. Maybe there is a solution that has not yet been found because we simply weren’t open and honest about what was troubling us? We can find hope and healing by taking action towards opening up to others and allowing a new path to be created.
Just for today, I will let others know that I need help and then take suggestions that will do just that.
