LeAnn Rimes Vs. Brandi Glanville: All Is Fair In Love And Addiction

Sharethis Watershed

It seems like the low-blows between country star LeAnn Rimes, and her husbands ex-wife Brandi Glanville are getting increasingly petty. In case you haven’t heard anything about the drama inside this celebrity war of words, lets get you up to speed. Long story short, Rimes was a married woman when she decided to engage in an affair with Glanville’s now ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian. In 2009, Rimes and Cibrian let their secret out to the public, got divorced from their spouses, and walked down the aisle together for the second time in 2011. Now, the saying, “hell hath no fury like a woman’s scorn,” has definitely proved true for the jaded ex-wife of Cibrian.

Distaste for Rimes was displayed in a recent interview with US Weekly where Glanville didn’t hold back when describing what she really thought of her ex-husbands mistress. She openly accused Rimes of being a prescription pill addict, an alcoholic, and a severe anorexic. Glanville made it clear that she didn’t think that she was fit to be her children’s stepmother because during the last visit with her son, Rimes allegedly dropped one of her laxatives on the floor. Apparently, the little boy found it and thought it was candy and ingested it. Glanville also gave a backhanded compliment toward Rimes’ singing ability when she nicknamed her “angelfish,” because she, “sings like an angel and drinks like a fish.”

LeAnn Suspected of Self Medicating

Rimes has seemed to have been shrinking to an unhealthy size in front of the public eye in the past few years, and may very well have an eating disorder. She entered into rehab this past August for what she claims was, “stress and anxiety.” Glanville told the media that Rimes was addicted to Adderall, which may not be true, but it would make sense. Adderall has been in the spotlight lately as an addictive narcotic that stimulates the mind and drastically suppresses the appetite. You don’t have to be a genius to figure out that not eating enough, plus laxatives, equals weight loss.

The country star denies all allegations of having an eating disorder. She also says that Glanville is lying about the laxative that her son got ill from, as well as any addiction to drugs or alcohol. Her only struggle, she says, is with emotional disorders that she has been getting help for ever since she can remember.

Even if Rimes was lying about going into rehab for the claimed reasons, and actually went for substance abuse, then that’s a good thing. Is it really the business of the public? It may be of concern to Glanville since her son will be spending time with her. But even so, if Rimes is a recovering addict, then added stress will only make things more difficult for her to refrain from relapse. Its no wonder why we see so many celebrity deaths that are brought on by substance abuse; any effort they make to get clean is quickly disheveled by stresses of everyday life.
