Anthony Anzaldo, Joanie Laurer’s manager, has stated that Chyna’s death was actually an accidental overdose death caused by Ambien and Valium.

“She accidentally and unintentionally misused her legally prescribed medication over the course of 2-3 weeks. It’s an epidemic,” Anzaldo said Wednesday, reports NBC News.

At this time a spokesperson for the coroner’s office believes that Chyna’s death may have been a possible drug overdose, but until a full examination and official cause of death are reported, it’s just a speculation at this time.

Former WWE champion, Chyna (Joanie Laurer), was found dead in her Redondo Beach home in California.

Chyna’s Twitter account confirmed death with a tweet.

“It is with deep sadness to inform you today that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna, the 9th wonder of the world has passed away. She will live forever in the memories of her millions of fans and all of us that loved her.

The Death Of Chyna

Chyna’s friend Anthony Anzaldo and the apartment building manager contacted the local police department because Chyna was not breathing at around 3:25 PM explained Lt. Todd Heywood. Police officers found Chyna passed away in her bed. No foul play has been suspected at this time and her death is now under investigation reports the LA Times.

Known for her muscular build and strength, Chyna was the only woman to have ever won the WWE Intercontinental Championship which helped make her a legend in the industry. Once Chyna had left the WWE in early 2000, she struggled greatly with addiction landing her a place on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Along with substance abuse issues, Chyna and fellow wrestler Sean Walktman, aka X-Pac, were featured in an adult film called “A Night In Chyna.”

Many are still shocked at the untimely passing of Chyna.
