‘Star Wars’ Actor Jake Lloyd: Diagnosed With Schizophrenia

Whether you are a huge Star Wars fan or not, chances are you’ve seen the movies and remember Jake Lloyd, who starred as Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace (1999). Lloyd was recently diagnosed with schizophrenia after spending almost 10 months in jail.

Lloyd, who also stared in the popular kid’s movie “Jingle All The Way” was arrested in June of 2015. Jake Lloyd, now 27, was involved in a high-speed chase by police in SC. His charges included failing to stop, reckless driving, resisting arrest, and operating a vehicle without a proper license, TMZ reported.

Lisa Riley, the child star’s mother, shared with TMZ that officials believe that her son is struggling with a mental health disorder and will need professional treatment. At this time there is no scheduled discharge date, but until medical professionals feel he is ready, he will remain in treatment so that he can focus on his health.
