According to the Palm Beach Post, Carrie Fisher’s autopsy came back and it showed a number of drugs in her system, including cocaine. Fisher, who was famous for her role in Star Wars as Princess Leia, had previously suffered from a heart attack on a flight and later died in the hospital on December 27, 2016.

Fans were devastated to learn of Fisher’s death, but Todd Fisher, Carrie’s brother, was not at all shocked to learn that drugs played a role.
Traces of cocaine, heroin, opiates, and MDMA were found in Carrie Fisher’s system. The coroner officially ruled her death as a result of a heart attack along with other undetermined factors.
“Ms. Fisher suffered what appeared to be a cardiac arrest on the airplane accompanied by vomiting and with a history of sleep apnea. Based on the available toxicological information, we cannot establish the significance of the multiple substances that were detected in Ms. Fisher’s blood and tissue, with regard to the cause of death,” the toxicology report states.

Carrie Fisher suffered for years with a bi-polar disorder and addiction. In fact, Fisher wrote a book called “Wishful Drinking” which chronicles her life as she recalls it. Her truth is courageous to say the least, and even though her death brings great sadness and knowledge of her recent drug abuse. She is and will always be brave in her battles and triumphs in life.
