#MondayMotivation: Practicing Patience | Weekly Meditation

The thing about patience is that it can take longer than just five minutes. Patience is not about how long you were able to wait in that line or get those test results, it is about how you are able to accept and act during that time.
What some people may miss is that this can also become a time for you to grow closer to your higher power. You just have to be willing to let go of fear, expectation, and anger.
So many of us believed that we were practicing patience because we didn’t totally lose it at that red light. Or, we were able to make it a full week before we got that job; and to some extent that is practicing patience, but what was going on inside us during that time? What if it was every red light, every day? What if it was weeks, months, or even years before we found that next job? Patience is something that has to be practiced daily and within in order for it to really work. Some days your patience will be wonderful and on point, while other days it may be short and tested. This all very normal and part of the process. It is the acceptance of today being exactly what it is and nothing more and nothing less that allows us to fully practice it.
We found that when we lived in today and only today our patience was that much easier to practice. We left our ideas, plans, and expectations with our higher power and allowed the day and our lives to unfold exactly as it should. When we talk to our higher power and release our fears we also found that our patience just came to us calmly and naturally. Practicing patience becomes an art form, a meditation in itself and it is entirely ours if we choose it to be.
Just for today, I will let go of anything that is blocking me from practicing patience and I will give myself permission to live in today only.Tags: detox monday, keep calm, monday motivation, motivational monday meditation
