#MondayMotivation: Serenity Prayer | Weekly Meditation
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
The serenity prayer seems to come in handy when we feel overwhelmed. And when you are stressed about some person, place, thing, or situation. It allows us to turn over our fears to a power greater than ourselves while we focus on what we can do.
Sometimes we can’t separate the anxiety from the situation we are facing, so this prayer is a great reminder to stop for a second and bring our attention back to prayer and meditation as we seek an answer from our higher power.
It is our peace of mind that helps us see clearly what actions we can take and what we really have no control over. We may not be able to change what we want, but that does not mean all hope is lost.
It simply means that our actions need to be diverted to where they are needed. That answer can only come from our prayer and meditation. When we have it, we will know.
If you find yourself frazzled at any point in this week. Remember to stop, breathe, and bring your thoughts and fears to your higher power. Then you may have clarity on what actions are needed of you and what you need to let go of.
