Uncomfortable Is The New Comfortable
Sobriety, for many of us, was always on the other side outside of our comfort zone. Many of us weren’t sure if it would work for us, how it would work, or what it would be like to be or stay sober.
It was a foreign concept, and it was a scary thought. We had to get uncomfortable and do it anyway if we were to get sober and if we were going to grow.
We later saw that we have to get uncomfortable for a lot of other things in life too if we wanted to achieve our dreams and continue to grow.
Taking chances and growing in life and recovery may be out of our comfort zone, but the rewards that come from it are so worth it. How many times have you gone through an uncomfortable change only to come out the other side grateful that you did and grateful for the experience?
Think of how amazing life would be if we just stepped out of the fear zone, Then walked through with faith more often? The only person stopping us from growing and being happy is ultimately ourselves.
Just for today, it is OK to be uncomfortable because it means that growth is taking place. Allow yourself to walk through your fears so that you can receive the gifts that are waiting for you.
