“Keep It Simple.”
Back To Basics
Getting back to basics is also getting back to what makes you successful in any complex treatment. In recovery its not starting over, it’s un-complicating a longer term process.
No matter how twisted our lives may seem or get, bringing it back to basics seems to work out well for us.
The longer we stay clean and sober the harder it can be to remember that the very same things we did in our early recovery work just as well in our present recovery. It’s as simple as we want to make it.
Simple doesn’t mean always easy, it just means that the action we need to take is not complicated. Work has to be done in order for us to continue to grow in our recovery and life.
Here are some suggestions to help get us back to basics: meditation and prayer, attending support groups, self-care, positive thinking, and being of service. When these little actions are implemented one day at a time. In steps, we suddenly can see our lives, situations, and attitudes changing for the better. It simply allows to invite the freedom, happiness, and joy back into our lives again.
In conclusion, for some people going back to basics can bring in immediate results, For others it may take longer to feel the effects. Time takes time and sometimes patience is the key to living a better today and tomorrow. Remember that this too shall pass as long as we get back our selfs.
Just for today, get back to basics and keep it simple.
