Motivational Meditation Monday: Keep Calm and No More Excuses
“It is better to offer no excuse than a bad one.” ― George Washington
No More Excuses
I can’t because…
I would but…
“I won’t” is the next step when it comes to making excuses for not doing the things you should or even want to in this life. Many of us wanted to get clean and sober far sooner than we had, but we had every excuse as to why we couldn’t or wouldn’t do it. That very attitude can stay with us even when we get and stay sober, but it doesn’t have to control us once we become aware of it.
Stop making excuses for why you can’t be healthy, quit smoking, break-off an unhealthy relationship, get a job, go back to school, or even recover and build your life back up! There are millions of people on this planet that have seemed to done all those things, why not you?
In my experience, the only difference between someone who is successful and someone who is not is their willingness. The willingness to not make excuses, work hard, never give-up and taking health risks towards achieving their goals. Willingness is crucial when it comes to achieving your dreams, because those who are willing are usually teachable, flexible, and can think outside of the box, which can all lead to success (however you define it).
You can make as many excuses as you want to not do something, but at the end of the day it is your life and you are the only one wasting it by not going after your dreams. Imagine what it would look like if you stopped making excuses and started taking action today! You can have the life you have always wanted, but you need to put in the hard work to do it. Nobody is going to build your life for you, so stop making excuses and start doing. If you could quit addiction, why can’t you do this? If you haven’t been able to lick addiction, then I equally invite you to take a chance, stop making excuses, and get clean and sober now! You can do it, because there are over 22 million Americans who have done it.
Today is the day that you change your life. Stop making excuses and start taking action!
