CARP Holiday Gala & The Peter Fairclough Memorial Recognition Award
Peter Fairclough, an alcoholic in recovery himself, founded the Comprehensive Addiction Rehabilitation Program (CARP) in 1967 after he saw a need for alcoholics and addicts to get treatment that may not otherwise be able to afford it. Peter had only $300.00 in donations and the willingness to do whatever it took to help the next sick and suffering addict and alcoholic. He would open the first halfway house in Palm Beach County. Peter Fairclough passed away in 1985 but his memory and mission continue on.
The Peter Fairclough Memorial Recognition Award is given to those who not only work in the field of addiction but also demonstrate true dedication and commitment to excellence in helping those who are suffering from addiction to alcohol and drugs achieve recovery. Each award recipients expressed their deep gratitude towards CARP’s continued support and attention towards those struggling with substance abuse issues in Palm Beach County, Fl.

The ceremony ended with CARP Executive Director and CEO, Robert P. Bozzone, expressing his heart felt gratitude to all those who had attended the gala. These pioneers in the substance abuse addiction treatment field continue to help addicts and alcoholics who are still sick and suffering find real hope in treatment for a disease that at one point was considered incurable. The hope that Mr. Bozzone and others gave during their speeches will continue to help pave the way in breaking the stigma of addiction and show that recovery is a reality for anyone seeking help.
