Malachi Love-Robinson, an 18 year-old teen from South Florida. Malachi is accused of posing as a doctor practicing medicine without a medical degree or proper licensing, after performing a physical exam and giving medical advice to an undercover female agent. Practicing medicine without a license is considered a third-degree felony in the state of Florida.
Fake Doctor, Fake Medical Practice
Malachi Love-Robinson opened his own practice in West Palm Beach, called New Birth New Life Holistic and Alternative Medical Center. His website lists him as holding a Ph.D. He also lists letters HHP-C and AMP-C after his name. Although there are no clear records of what those designations actually represent.
Despite not having a valid medical license, Love-Robinson was able to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, which allows him to charge Medicaid and Medicare for patients’ treatment. In October of 2015, a cease-and-desist letter was sent by the Florida Department of Health. But Love continued to practice medicine and with a full staff on board up until his recent arrest.
Prior To The Arrest Of Malachi Love-Robinson
The teen doctor claimed that he had two degrees from Southwest College of Natural Medicine and Arizona State University, both of which have been determined to be fraudulent.
Malachi Love-Robinson also worked for a time at New Directions Behavioral Health (NDBH). An addiction treatment center for drug and alcohol abuse located in Boynton Beach, Fl.
Malachi Love-Robinson was a program director at New Directions rehab until he opened up his own practice in West Palm Beach, Fl. The Palm Beach Post reports that the teen doctor had stated that the $3,000 monthly rent at his new medical practice was paid for by his earnings at New Directions.
According to the Sun-Sentinel, the teen doctor posed as an OB/GYN last January under the name Dr. Robinson at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Malachi Love-Robinson was detained and questioned. Malachi Love-Robinson, was not arrested at that time.
Along with owning and operating a fake medical practice without proper medical licensing. Robinson is being charged with grand theft after stealing thousands of dollars from an 86-year-old elderly lady during several home visits.
In conclusion, as if this story couldn’t get any more strange, the teen doctor posted on his Facebook page, which has since been deleted, that he was struggling with stage 2 kidney cancer.
His mother also claimed he was off his mental health medications. And the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office states that the teen doctor was at one time committed for mental health treatment without consent.
What’s Next For Malachi Love-Robinson?
At this time, Malachi Love-Robinson is being charged with five counts of fraud by using ID without consent. And one count of larceny of more than $20,000. He is also under going a mental health evaluation ordered by the judge. The good news at this point is that he is no longer practicing medicine.
More will be revealed on his mental health state and we hope that whatever mental health issues he does have. Malachi gets treatment for, so that no one else will be affected by his actions.
