Lisa Robin Kelly Death
Craig Wyckoff released a statement to People magazine stating, “Unfortunately Lisa Robin Kelly passed away…Lisa had voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was battling the addiction problems that have plagued her these past few years.”
That 70’s Show
Lisa Robin Kelly played Laurie Forman, the older sister of Eric Forman (Topher Grace), on that 70’s show, which aired on Fox from 1998-2006. Kelly had a serious alcoholism problem and was even arrested recently in Southern California for a DUI. This was not her first encounter with the law though. Kelly and her husband, Robert Joseph Gilliam, 61, were also arrested last November in connection with spousal abuse at their home in Mooresville, N.C. Kelly has been reported to have been arrested over 4 times this past year alone.
Celebrities Struggle With Addiction Too
Lisa Robin Kelly, along with every other celebrity that has battled drug addiction and alcoholism, suffers just like any other addict or alcoholic. The only real difference is we actually witness on a nationwide scale their rise and fall. Lisa Robin Kelly, Cory Monteith, Amy Winehouse, Whitney Houston, and countless others all died way before their time and at the hands of addiction. As more and more celebrity deaths come into play we hope that other celebrities like Lindsay Lohan take warning and really stick to their recovery. There is hope outside of addiction but just like anything else in life, you have to want it and work for it.
